[Mute Swans] Chapter 13: Time to make a choice**

The parent have to make a choice that continue to brood on the last egg or give it up. The newly hatched chicks have not eaten much since they were born, and it is the seventh day since the after the first baby swan was hatched out.

They seems to take a consideration for a long time.

The parent choose to give it up.

She hatched 5 out of 8 eggs. A baby swan died four days ago while the last egg was abandoned.

The baby swans are seemed to eat nothing during the time of incubation by the female.

They are seemed happy to swim on the water and got some spread on the surface.

The cygnets look nice.

But the female is seemed a little bit sad.

The abandoned egg still lay on the nest.

While mallards come to forage in the nest.

The male swan seems not very happy so he come back to guard the nest.

He stands by the nest.

The baby swans come back the nest.

The swan still come back to the nest while the female no longer do incubation for the egg.
