[Mute Swans] Chapter 14: Residents vs Swans*

The male swan: “It’s my road”. “Yes, it’s yours.” said by residents in Cambridge. His wife and children stand by his side.

People in Cambridge cherish the swans and consider them as part of the community.

The swan: “I am the lord!”

Actually they probably have higher position than that of people.

Sometimes they are not happy that people are too close to them.

Sometimes the swans are not happy to give way.

The cygnets just lie down, remaining composed, while people continuously walk via their side.
