[Mute Swan] The Black Guy

There was a black swan in the river cam.

This black guy is actually not a mute swan. But it usually showed up with the mute swans and it is the only black swan in the Cambridge city center after 2006.

From old pictures, I found there actually were a couple of black swans. They resided here and breed their children several years ago. But now one of them was passed away. This one should be male.

At the moment, he usually roamed around the river cam alone.

Unfortunately he hasn’t showed up until now since the beginning of 2008. So some people guess it might be passed away as well.

The black guy got a black coat. Inside the flight feathers are actually white.

Unlike the mute swans move slowly, he walked lively and always kept his chest out.

Due to resided in the river for a while, he usually got to people very close and asked for foods.

Like mute swans, he also liked to groom himself in the river.

But he looked lonely as he was the only back swan around this area. It might not be a bad thing for him to see his partner.
